The town is also home to the Nishimura Kyotaro Memorial Museum, which exhibits the favorite possessions and 500 books of Kyotaro Nishimura, a leading travel mystery writer, as well as the Yugawara Museum of Art, a small red-brick museum in the hot spring resort town where many artists and literary figures visited to take a rest. Gosho Shrine, one of the most famous power spots in Yugawara, where Amaterasu and Amano-no-Oshihomimi are enshrined; Yugawara Kaihin Koen, a seaside park along Route 135 with tennis courts where you can relax and enjoy the view of the ocean; and the beautiful seasonal nature, especially in early February and March when the “Ume-no-Meet” is held, with approximately 4,000 cherry blossom trees.
