In 1976, Shirakawa-go was selected as an important traditional building, and offers a view of the origins of the beauty of Japan’s traditions.
In 1995, Shirakawa-go was registered as a cultural heritage site in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
By highway bus, it takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes from Kanazawa Station and about 2 hours and 50 minutes from Nagoya.
